Within walking distance of where they are, you also have the Harvard of the Midwest at Washington University. I wouldn't be shocked if a good chunk are college kids. But yes, there's still a lot being shipped in.

Shame.
The St Louis metro is a great place to live and raise a family. I choose to come back home when I got out of the ARMY and don't regret it at all.
There is a broad brush that is used to paint the entire area and that's just not an honest representation of St Louis.

The comments on the live periscope feed are fricking hilarious. Reminds me of one of those golden threads on the OTL.

True. The stuff on TV is such a small segment and not really at all what it's like if you live here.

Yeah, reminds me of the last riots n shite, and all of us following a live feed, and people posting in comment section about OT, and taking shots at Owie. LOL

I remember we ran out of feeds one night and found this ventriloquist in Denham and trolled him for a bit. He went from like 5 people to 45 in a matter of seconds....good times

You're an idiot.

People were trolling the live comments of periscope and youtube/livestream so bad one night, that we were getting threatened with bans, if we kept posting Td and OT comments.
Or the night we found the periscope of the young black kid, and people found his number and were calling his house. And i think ordered a pizza to his house.

I lived in St. Louis for a year, in Tower Grove, and the problem with the area is that there are far too many municipalities for the area. I remember reading there are nearly 200 municipalities. I live in a larger metro area now and there are far fewer municipalities in general.
If the City and County could combine in some way, it would be better for the whole area in my view.

The city and county will never combine. Living in the county I don't want that to happen. My taxes would be raised to clean up someone else's shite.
I do agree about eliminating all these small municipalities. Put it all under the auspices of County PD. Also, stop "fixing" tickets. If you get a speeding ticket, you get the points and your insurance goes up. Enough points, you lose your license. Pulled over on suspended license, you're spending the weekend in jail. Second offense a week. Then a month and so on. Apply it across the board. No one gets tickets "fixed" any more.

Fox just did a short segment towards the end of last hour and top of the this one and CNN a short one at the beginning of this hour.
Guess nothing really newsworthy right now from the ratings standpoint.

Yep, everyone wants to be important. They want their own police force, mayors, etc.
there are munis, that you drive through in 1 minute, and they have a police force and mayor.
Tower grove park is nice, got married there.

Yep. You can walk less than a mile in a few areas of the metro and cross 3 municipalalities.
The City had all the money at the turn of 19th century and chose to secede from St Louis County. Seemed like a great idea until the metro grew and the City was locked into its borders. The rest is history...
It's really a story of how not to grow a City core and metro area.

I noticed this earlier. It is white people holding BLM posters. They seem to be the ones who are causing the most trouble.
I remember when people were protesting after Alton Sterling was shot, a friend of mine had to go to one of his stores that is off of Florida blvd, right past airline. He was talking to this black dude who was a delivery guy and they were talking about the protest. He told my friend "man, that shite was wild. We were bbqing, sitting outside watching them people getting all worked up.. We were laughing our asses off".
I don't know why this SJW type feel like they have to be "the voice" for black people.

White guilt. It's been ingrained in them.
Posted on 9/15/17 at 8:25 pm to kilo
I still don't know why we don't just let downtown St. Louis go and create a "new" St. Louis out around Earth City on the Missouri river. You could have historic down town St. Charles on one side of the river and ballparks/stadiums/arenas/businesses/etc on the other side. Everyone says you can't just give up on the downtown area and I say why not? If I'm just relocating the profitable parts of it. The city is screwed up with their taxes and everything anyways.

Because they don't want to feel left out. They want to feel important. They think protesting this will make them on the same level as those that protested for legit civil rights issues in the 60s.

Or, let City take North County
County border becomes 70 and Lindbergh?
