Portland College Making April ‘Whiteness History Month’

Don't get too excited. It's actually about how much we suck.
January 18th, folks. So begins the longest year in American history.

Portland Community College said it will deconstruct the origins of "whiteness" as part of the project, which aims to "inspire innovative and practical solutions to community issues and social problems that stem from racism."
Unlike Black History Month, Whiteness History Month, to take place in April, is "not a celebratory endeavor," according to organizers with the school's Cascade Campus Diversity Council. (Sorry, racists.)

I still think its odd to think everyone who is white comes from the exact same lineage. Its like all of Europe is just generalized as "ALL WHITE PEOPLE". So much for countries, the wars they fought against each other, the monarchy citizens of those countries tried to overthrow...no they're all in it together, and they all collectively planned racism.

Absolutely. My family is all Italian. We came to America between 1880-1920 (different parts of the family). So none of us had anything to do with slavery. But most historians say that Jews and Italians were the targets of discrimination like black people were for a significant period of time. Other white people were racist against my family! Yet here I am, evil white man reporting to work on MLK day

Same here. My grandfather was full blooded Cherokee. And with the Cherokee on my dad's side, I am 1/3 not white. Like my great grandfather walked the Trail of Tears not white. But, I look all white, so i must be a racist POS.
