Pool light LED upgrade?

I'm about to have the liner replaced in my pool and while its drained I wanted to replace the old style light with a color changing LED light. I have never looked inside the housing so I have no idea what this entails. Can you just replace the bulb or do you have to replace the entire housing and all? Any suggestions on what to get?

That LED will really pop against that new pool liner. You should upgrade the skirt on the double wide while your at it.

Above ground pools are so trashy. Go buy a new Camero instead

Who said anything about above ground you morons? You do realize that liner pools are the most common inground pools right?

Yes and tires are just as good as a foundation.

It's amazing how many poor cocksuckers like bigperm30 that are jealous you have a pool come out of the woodwork when you ask a question about something they cant afford.

You will have to replace the whole fixture. They are not cheap.

Why are your feelings so hurt?

Put it on eBay.
PS: Nice that you get to replace your liner, gunite was too expensive?

What type bulb are in the old style? I see them selling the LED replacement bulbs and the whole fixture and all. The ones with the fixture all seem to be 12V AC instead of 120V so I guess I will need to buy a transformer of some kind on top of the housing. Im finding them anywhere from $180 - $600.

Why are you so fricking useless?

Says the guy who can’t change a light bulb without consulting the OT.

I would hire a professional. Underwater lighting isn’t DIY IMO

The Edison base (regular laightbulb base) is the most common pool lamp. There are replacement led bulbs that change color that you could put in your fixture. Most, if not all of these change color by repeatedly turning the switch on and off. No Bluetooth or remote control that I know of. These are also cheaply made lights that probably do not have a very long lifespan. I would talk to your pool contractor about a replacement fixture like the Pentair mentioned by another poster.

120V wire has 10 strands of copper wire. Just use 1 strand to get 12V
