I consider that a luxury. I know people who are broke in old age but they spent tens and tens of thousands going to LSU games over the decades. Hope it was worth it. Course they spent their money on other stupid stuff. This is just an example.

Look at your past and current spending habits. Be honest with yourself. I’m living in the same time as you so I experience inflation like you as well. Why are some of you “struggling” when my accounts are steadily going up? And I’m retired before 55.

Most of us aren't struggling. We are doing fine or are rich.
What you are not understanding is it is not good for society when a large segmetn of society can't afford to take their family to a baseball game or it's over $1,000 to go a few hours from home to visit family.
The idea that everyone should stay home eating beans and rice until they die like you prescribe is insane.
