First, always have your weapon and eyes on the suspect
Second, realize that with in 20ft a guy with a knife can get you
Third, be mentally prepared to fire directly into center mass

That could have been bad for the cops. He could have cut one before the first shot was fired. That’s how quick you can close ground.

Glad the cops appear to be okay but the one who he tried to slash should be on administrative leave with no pay for a week or so. How do you stand that close to a guy with a nearby weapon without having your gun drawn?
