They could have tried talking to her

Yeah, why didn't they think of that first...

Two Chatsworth officers along with Police Chief Josh Etheridge arrived at the scene, and repeatedly asked Al-Bishara, to drop the knife

and if she's hard of hearing, which she probably is, they could have tried yelling.

Yeah, great idea!

quote:

Officers began making hand gestures to indicate dropping a knife, but the woman still did not comply, the report states.

quote:

Etheridge told CNN affiliate WTVC that he took a knife from his pocket, showed it to Al-Bishara, and “threw my knife down on the ground, trying to make her understand what we wanted her to do.”

Oh...

Oh...

And that's when she charged him. Murder in her eyes and cottage cheese on her lips

They did... She didn't speak English.

They tried motioning to her to drop the knife. She didn't...

She started walking towards them with the knife so they tased her.

I know that doesn't matter because she was still trespassing

Correct.

It seems like they thought she was a threat.

“No, she just brought the knife onto the property in her hand, she didn’t try and attack anybody or anything,” the caller said.

But was the call placed because she was trespassing?

About what exactly? I mentioned I was not the one who called firearms a non-lethal weapon. Am I wrong?

Kids today...

That thing on her head is not a turban but a f*ck*ng scarf. It is common fashion accessory for women in her generation (tho hers does looks like she has a moth problem at home).

Her grandson may be a Ninja tho with the cap she knitted for him...

Well the average person in america is a drooling moron. If you have contact with these people, bad things can happen. Tazing an 87 year old with a knife? Smh. It takes some strength and speed to do damage. If she managed to hurt the cop with that, the cop needs another line of work.

Maybe. I doubt she's coherent enough to ever tell anyone. Who uses a steak knife to pick dandelions.
