This site reporting a car rammed a security gate

quote:

A US airforce base in Suffolk, RAF Mildenhall, has been placed on lockdown following a security incident, say Sky sources.

A Ministry of Defence (MoD) source said a man driving a car tried to force the vehicle into the base.

Sky's Defence Correspondent Alistair Bunkall said: "I have been told by the Ministry of Defence in London that one individual is in custody with Suffolk Police.

"It was described to me as some sort of arguments at the base gates. The situation is ongoing.

"The base remains in lockdown. People have to stay in their offices; you turn off the lights; you lock the doors, you draw the curtains or blinds around the windows to make it look like no one is around."

An MoD spokesman said: "We are aware of an incident at the entry point of RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk police have primacy; all questions should be referred to them."

A man has been arrested by police.

A National Police Air Service's helicopter was called to the base.

It actually happens more than people think

people ramming the gate or driving through it.

Happened at Barksdale a few years ago. Ole baw was night hunting on the Reservation. Game wardens and Security Police chased him all over the base, including some secure areas.

I don't know how those guards ever stop anybody when they aren't allowed to move. You'd have to be an idiot to not get through.

Worst way to break into a base. I learned this in GTA. You gotta come in hot in a chopper
