I really love how you're all about whining about your rights being trampled on while you are positive this cop is guilty of something.
I guess he doesn't get the same rights you do.

According to police, Powell ignored orders to put down his handgun.

One of the officers then fired at the homeowner, who had just emerged from his garage.
So how many orders did they give the guy before they put fifty holes into him, considering he just emerged from his garage?

I'll take "things that equal zero" for $500, Alex.

Ok, that is fine but realize response times are gonna triple if not increase even more than that.
And...? Are you really suggesting civilian casualties are ok so long as it results in slightly faster response times? This can only sound good so long as the hypothetical you're imagining revolves around the police responding to your call rather than you being killed while they respond to someone else's call, right?
quote:
When someone comes to your house and attacks you 911 and police will double check all records and do a full investigation on the address before responding to your call for help.
You and your family will be fuked but your neighbor should be fine.
Well, good news...I'll never call the police to help if I'm being attacked in my home. Even with whatever response time you've dreamed up, by the time they'd get here whatever would have happened would be over anyway. Seriously...when this is tossed out as some fear mongering attempt, do you guys ever bother to even ask...how many of you have EVER called the police for help? I haven't...have you? Under what circumstances...did they save you?

And not kill an innocent homeowner? Sounds good to me.
This is a terrible isolated situation. You are advocating that officers put themselves in more danger when answering 911 calls and gun calls. That is purely an idiotic response.

Perhaps you're not familiar with the definition of the world "isolated."

Burger King is hiring. Nobody asked them to be cops.

Im pretty sure in a hypothetical where trained cops were replaced by BK employees, and vice versa, nothing would change. The former police officers would frick up your order, and the BK employees wouldnt do any worse than trained police officers.

Police Departments are also hiring, feel free to come give it a try for a year.

disgusting. this should be national news. no wait! the victim was white. nevermind. white lives don't matter.

Well, you totally made up numbers and are ignorantly spewing them. I am not a fan of the modern day police state, but you are kind of a POS for your mindless statement.

Maybe if some "better people", i.e. the guys in these threads who care so much about social justice, grew some nuts and became LEO's, maybe the country would be a better place.
Not kidding

Yea, I should take a huge paycut to sit in a cruiser, and issue tickets to every other vehicle doing 5 over. No thanks.

With cell phones we get a lot of 911 calls from people that are in distress or need immediate police help and a lot of times we don't know where they are at. A lot of t if people do not have land lines anymore.
We have a system that links cell phones to addresses but what if that person moved or has not ever dealt with the police before?
This is a huge issue right now and any solution that people could come up with would be welcome

Start by asking them where they located?

Maybe you should find out before gunning innocent people down.
Too many cops these days are just roided up meatheads looking for a reason to beat or shoot someone.
And the rest of the cops just keep their mouths shut when they do it.

Given the mobility of cell phones, this is just stupid.
So if I called 911 from my office and for some reason didn't communicate that location, the cops would show up at my House 4 miles away? Lol
Posted on 6/14/16 at 9:24 pm to Golfer
You lucky. they would be looking 100 miles from where I am located. Lol.

They have guns, body armor, numbers, and a get out of jail free card. At least make sure the guy you're emptying a mag into is a criminal/dangerous.
And does 911 have fricking caller ID? Can't they call back and get a street address?
