UPDATE
God love you all:
You,
Your husband,
Your DAD.
Cheers to your dad: What a lovely phrase it is, and what a lovely phrase it has the potential to be.
And he lived up to it.
Just based off of your thread, any sane man who ever lived will envy your father and the prowess of living life that he possessed.
I know I do, and you nor him even asked for the reverence, and to me, that is a life that a man can hang his hat on: One where common men come together in uncommon solidarity to celebrate what we all can be if we want to be.
That is, a man like your dad.

The love you have for your dad is breathtaking. May he Rest In Peace and may you find peace and comfort.

I am so sorry for the passing of your dad. It sounds like he lived a good life surrounded by the people that he loved the most...you and your dad will be in my prayers tonight...

Truly sorry, God Bless him and your family. I lost my dad in 2017 and there's a void that will never be filled. I miss him and talk to him daily.
I second this and I lost my Mom in August of 2017 as well. She was helping me raise my daughter and the sadness really lingers...an element of it does at least...my father, daughter, and I went Saturday to place flowers on her grave for her birthday. It's at an old country church cemetery where I have probably 8 generations or so of my family buried. I was trying to be strong for my daughter but I've had a lot of stress on me and I so badly wish I had a moment by myself to bring her some of those stressors that I would have brought her were she living. I also just wish she could see the special young lady my daughter is turning into with SO much hard work and effort she put in to helping rear her in the place of her Mom who passed away years before.
To the OP...I get it, I have my one little girl and she is a Daddy's girl to the hilt. I have been her rock over the years and had her with sole custody from day one...my heart hurts for you...don't hate me for this but go to YouTube and look up the song "You Can Let Go Daddy"...it will drain you of a lot of the pent up grief you have, almost therapeutic to get it out. Anyway, God bless you in this time of pain, may he comfort you and your family with a peace that passes all understanding.

Condolences to you and your family. I know it's hard. You'll always miss him, but it will get better, gradually. Just remember, it's not "goodbye"; it's "see you later".
God bless you.
God bless you.
