Hey guys,
My Mom has asked to consult with someone at MD Anderson, so hopefully they will get back to her soon. She has been on radiation for a week now and had her first chemotherapy treatment on Monday. The radiation is supposed to lighten about 85% of the pain, according to her radiologist and he said that he should be able to get most of the cancer. My Mom's boyfriend told me this. I hope this is true, as a big part of this is the pain. If she was not in so much pain, she can do more.
Let's all face it, there is nothing to say that I couldn't be killed in an auto accident on my way home, so none of us are guaranteed a thing. Which is why I enjoy every moment I have now. Whose to say my Mom may outlive me. Not trying to be morbid, just putting things in perspective.
Again, thanks to all of your responses and prayers.

i will definitly say a prayer for your entire family. We are in the final stages of cancer with my grandmother and it has been rough for everyone, I could only imagine if it was my mother. Stay strong and optimistic, and i will be sure to keep ya'll in my prayers.

Please insist that your mom have a PET scan. It is a cancer finding study like a CT. I do this for a living. Just to make sure the cancer is not anywhere else. God bless.

Weaver,
Take heart. I am convinced that God honors the prayers of the faithful (and sometimes the unfaithful as well). So I think just on this board alone, you've got both bases covered, my friend.
I've lived long enough now that all my parents and grandparents are gone. It's a lonely feeling, so I'm glad for you that at 33, you're seeing that having someone like your mom with you is a temporary but precious gift. I wish I had seen this at a much younger age.
There is hope - my wife is a 9 year breast cancer survivor.
A question: does your mom have a church? Or does she have a close connection to someone who does have a church? Reason I ask, in my tradition, people who are sick can request that the elders come and pray for them, anoint them, and lay hands on them for healing. It comes right out of the book of James: "Is any one among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." (James 5:14-15, ESV) I think it would be good to invite elders or a priest or deacons to come to see your mom and take this prescribed action.
I've seen this make a big healing difference in a few cases. I'd leave no stone left unturned.

Will certainly keep your family, especially your Mom, in my prayers.
I'm currently going through this with my Dad who was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer back in January. He has been dealing with this for well over a year, though. He just completed radiation and now has surgery in late May. That'll be followed by 6 months of IV chemo therapy. Any prayers for him would also be appreciated.

That is how they found it. She had one and it spread more than they thought, but she had to push her doctors to get one, as they are expensive. I hate that bullshite when they don't want to do stuff because it is too expensive. She had MRI's, CT scans, chest xrays, etc. I want my doctor to do what is right, not because it may be too expensive. I am going for my physical next Friday, so I am going to make sure they give me a good once over and will get some blood work and a psa test as well.
Not to get off track, but now I am paranoid with my own health. Like I said earlier, we are guaranteed nothing, so enjoy the moment.
Thanks again to all.

I'll gladly include your Mom in my prayers Weaver. She must be a wonderful lady to have raised such a fine Son as yourself.

To be honest, my family is not very religious. My Mom does not attend church nor have one. I see your point, but have relied on our family to support us emotionally and in prayer. My aunt died a few years ago of cancer and she had a similiar problem, where she had cancer, it went into remission and then came back somewhere else. She lived a lot longer than the doctors gave her, so there is hope.
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

Weaver I just got back from MD Anderson. My mom has brain cancer and we were down there for that. Its a remarkable hospital. We just got great news that the drug she is taking is working. Chemo and radiation did not.
I will pray for your mother. I know how difficult this is for you. God Bless

She is and I give her and all of my family credit for making me into who I am today. I am just glad they gave me direction and don't want to take any of the credit. I just listened and had the easy job. They had the tougher job.
