Do you have another source of income lined up?

Yes - Leave if you are THAT miserable
No - Stay until you have another source of income

It sounds like you have a shitty work ethic so whatever job you get you'll suck at it! Grow up and be a man that somebody can be proud of like your dad or mom.

Dragging up mid summer tells me you're a pussy. If a week or two before the semester starts, so you can blow half your money on a cool trip, that would be okay. The point of shitty summer construction jobs is to remind you why you're in college in the first place. So you'll never have to work there again. Just suck it up.

If you can take the hit on quality of life and not get yourself into debt by reducing your income, then do what you gotta do .

Financially it obviously makes the most sense to stay at your current job, but I believe in balance. Having more money but being miserable is less desirable to me than having less money but a job I enjoy (or at least don't hate).

Don't let people tell you that you are lazy for wanting to quit a job that makes you miserable. If you have the means to support yourself with another source of income, then why not go somewhere where you dread going to every day?

I worked a shitty plant job during summers in college. It's good for the soul. But if you're working 7 12's on a turnaround, go ahead and drag up. Judging by the tone of your posts, you're not busting arse on a turnaround.

The only PT school this guy can get into is in St. Augustine, and he will come out 200k plus in debt. With his work ethic, hopefully he will just get a job as an elementary school PE teacher.

Like my ole man told me- get that college degree so you don't have to work in a plant. Unless you're an engineer or course.

So, basically, you want to quit your part time job with one of the biggest industrial contractors in the state, which offers you better pay and networking opportunities than any job you could possibility get while in college, which you managed to get despite south LA being in the middle of an oil bust, so you can focus more on a degree in being a PE coach.

Yep, you're 18.

It sounds like he does not want to work at a plant in the summer. Which I don't blame him.

OP have a normal college experience and wait tables or bartend.

To each his own, but I would have given my left nut for a plant job early on in college. Even as a helper he's making double what he could waiting tables unless he suddenly grows tits.

I waited tables at Emerils during college and on a bad night I would walk out with over $150.

It just matters what kind of restaurant you work at.

It's not that you want to be a PE teacher.

It's that you'll realize that's all your kinesiology degree is good for unless you go to a shitload more school.

But you took out 50k in student loans already, because that plant job wasn't "what you wanted to do."

So you'll settle for PE teacher to pay the bills.
