Always include Captain Steve when posting his shite.
While I don't like him at all this is one of the few times where he doesn't make a jackass out of himself besides his 'try not to cry' moment.

His post on this incident was solid.

Looks like they found another piece of the elevator three miles away. Can't link to Facebook, but it is on Live Storm Chasers 8 hours ago.
So DrUMps SAMs hit that single piece of the plane!!a!!!@1!!!!
I bet 2 50 year old pilots could have flown that plane missing that and a wing!
(This is sarcasm)

I did say that besides the fake 'try not to cry' he didn't make a jackass of himself.
Thats about as good as you will get from me on him.

Am I the only one that doesn’t hear the Lord’s Prayer in the recording?

It’s faint and you only hear one line

said the coroner said not to but she insisted. Said she regretted it because there was nothing to really identify the kid...was just basically meat.
There are pictures of a cosmonaut who crashed and it is very definable as a horribly mangled human corpse.
Side note, my aunt asked to see my cousin’s body and they did. The showed her and she absolutely went into a blind rage because they just stuffed his guts back into him and didn’t sew him up very well

There has been a lot of dumbness on this topic for sure.
We still don't know the chicken and egg question.
Did the turbulence cause structural failure? Or did they stall it at altitude and pull the tail off in recovery with a too sudden move above an icing (weight) depressed VA?
Or something else . . . .
The good news is that the NTSB is insanely thorough. We just need to wait a couple of years before the report.
It does remind me of some gallows humor among pilots I knew (most old CIA or military jocks).
The cause of all crashes is . . . insufficient altitude.

Pilot Steve thinks Ice buildup is the culprit. The other guy says maybe not -
The severe turbulence put the jet into an upset situation. Pilot was unable to recover and regain control of the jet. Jet then goes into a dive which evolves into Mach Tuck situation, which is the end state - you can't recover control when that happens. Tail section broke off after the terminal dive already started.
Anyway, that's how I would summarize what he said. Steve says Ice caused the loss of control. Other guy says it was severe turbulence and that Ice was present but not the main cause.
Of course, they both say we don't know for sure, which is absolutely true.

I'm going with your 2nd explanation. Planes can handle a lot of turbulence, but the frame stress resulting from a stall and related overspeed seems more likely.

He made a critical mistake which is baffling considering experience.
I’m sure she was a fine a pilot and apologies to her for criticizing her at all. Women should never be criticized and I apologize.

When able, can you please link the turbulence analysis?would you like like to watch/listen to it.

I have a hard time believing that the NTSB won't ultimately criticize the actions of both pilots. But a blanket statement that women should not pilot planes is just plain stupid.
