Yeah I saw CW Lemoine’s video of that. Never even flew into a grass strip before.
Also,
6R1 almost gave me a shite stain.

Don’t overshoot it. There might be alligators.

Ole buhlow lake.. use to have some decent boat races there.
I thought they were having them there in June this year but I don't see it on the schedule.

I grew up in Pineville. Played little league baseball at the ballpark on Buhlow. I don’t think that ballpark is there anymore.

I couldn't even tell ya... Haven't really kept up with anything there since leaving 10½ years ago when i hired out with the railroad and moved to Gonzales and then just moved outside of Beaumont. That would be cool if they were still doing it! Some fun memories as a child. I think there are some races coming up on the neches river in the next month i may bring my kids to check out.

Straight down that road a few miles is the fabled South Traffic Circle.

The small circle was on the other side of the river across the OK Allen Bridge.
They did away with that one and blew up the bridge.

is Kyrles still open
Absolutely, it’s a gaaahtdamn Avoyelles Parish landmark. Acquired by new blood/$$$ a few years back, still alive & kicking. Restaurant only, catering, but I don’t think the nightclub is operating…

Yeah that is a cool place to land. I’ve landed at many of the airports in LA and two of my favorites were Homer Municipal (Lake Claiborne), and Union Parish (Lake D’arbonne) and for the same reasons. It’s beautiful around those lake areas. Lakefront and MSY are pretty cool to land at too.

Caught a very nice goggle-eye once out of Crazy Lake when I was a kid. Only bite I ever got.
At PHS, we used to joke about all the submarine races we would watch late night parked pit behind that airport.

I'd like to nominate Welsh's airport.

Uncle's camp is just up the backside of the airport down the levee

No club was closed sometime back, it’s just a restaurant. The food is top notch also, but Kyrles restaurant has always been top notch. I worked as a bartender back in the early 90s there and can remember watching Lil Kyrle make his Ettouffee in the kitchen. We had some times there can I tell you.
