THIS. A LOT of the excitement goes out the window for both parties when it's no longer a "forbidden secret" type thing.
Now that she can be with him all the time without that excitement there it'll crash and burn quickly. I give them a year tops before they're absolutely miserable.

Not always. I know several people that have a 50/50 deal. Have the kids 50% of the time and pay 50% of their expenses.
