Watched the Shuttle piggy backed on a 747 circling downtown Shreveport from the Petroleum Club before landing at Barksdale. It was kind of surreal.

I have a photo of NASA's 747 and Endeavor somewhere, taken from the parking lot at Michoud a few years ago. This was when the shuttle program had ended and they were placing the shuttles in museums. This was when they were flying Endeavor out to Los Angeles. They made some "flyover stops" at a few NASA locations and I just happened to be at Michoud that day when it was sunny and cloudless.
On a side note, I was in LA on a business trip with a bunch of NASA folks a couple of years later - when they said "Let's go see the shuttle!". So we drove down and did so. While we were there, Mel Gibson happened to walk up and started asking questions about it - he had taken a couple of his kids to the science museum where the shuttle was stored. He seemed like a really nice guy who was genuinely interested in the technology and manufacturing needed.
I have been fortunate enough in my travels for NASA as a contractor that I have been able to take my camera into some places that most folks do not get to go. It's been a good ride.

Some sci-fi show? Buck Rogers. That show was nothing but hot chicks in spandex.

Found the shuttle flyover shot, so here it is - New Orleans, circa 2012 or maybe early 2013. And just for fun, I've included a bonus shot of the Super Guppy from a year or two earlier.

Gwili Andre was a beautiful 30's Danish actress. But, she was also not a very good actress. So, she didn't have a stellar career and died fairly young in an apartment fire.

The cover title "a small cork of a radiator" was kind of saucy, since the woman would be sitting on the radiator cap of that car.
