This beauty is Britain's oldest door, constructed almost 1,000 years ago, in the 1050s. It's located in Westminster Abbey.

In the 60's I'd go there with one of my aunts and grandma to buy bushel baskets of peas, okra and green beans when they were in season so they could put it up in the freezer.

We'd spend hours hulling peas out of the pods, cutting ends and snapping the green beans and cutting up okra to be stewed down to use in gumbos and soups.

Our house built mid 50’s had the same paneling and floor but we had the asbestos ceiling tile. Now that I think about it we also had asbestos siding and lead paint.

Mom would polish those wood floors to a sparkle. We’d lap some socks on and have a mean slip and slide session.
