I know it's blasphemy posting this as an LSU fan on here, but it looked cool. Was trying find a vintage cheerleader riding a tiger in tiger stadium, but came up short. Well, see below.

In 1944 a kitten named George (short for General Electric) was saved from drowning by a U.S. Navy crew member. George was then photographed and given a liberty card and detailed health record.

Yeah. I guess that’s possible.

You've got to be old enough to have heard of having the TV serviced. Even if just from watching old sitcoms.

TV repair was an exciting and promising career, according to old votech school ads.

How much TV repairmen charged provided endless fodder for comedians.

As Thurston Howell III said, "I'm rich, but even I can't afford TV repairman time!"

There's a great All In The Family episode where Archie is interviewed on the news, but his TV set goes out just before the news comes on & he's in a mad rush to find a repairman

I remember back in the day dad had a friend who repaired TVs. He’d come to the house with a big old case filled with tubes and stuff when the TV went out. It happened a lot.
The good old days with tubes for your tv. PAC A Sak would sell them too. High tech.

I remember these kiosks that would be in stores like Walgreens.....

You could test your old tubes to make sure they were bad. My dad would take the TV apart and bring the tube over to one of these to buy another tube.
