Leave it to Beaver aired for six season from 1957-1963. Cable TV was invented around 1948. But by 1962, only around 800K households in the US had cable. That’s out of over an estimated 45 million American households that had a TV at that time. Odd that TV guide would put that part about paying too much for TV service on their cover at that time.
