You and me both. Born in 52, so I got to push that tool into quite a few cans of motor oil to be put in car engines in my youth.
Back then there were lots of tools used for opening cans to get to the contents. Church Keys for opening beer cans and popping the tops off soda bottles, that 2 pronged stainless steel cap that covered cans of evaporated milk that punctured 2 holes in the can so it could be poured out, The G.I.'s P-38 used to open canned goods in a pinch.
