Not the dreaded Babe post.

You should continue to post vintage babe photos. They get more views/action than most of the other posts.

The production Connies, Super Connies and the military EC121 all had R-3350 turbo-compound radial engines.

When I was in Norfolk there was still one EC 121 still flying. There was no doubt what it was when it rolled down the runway. The sound was unmistakable.

I believe the crashes were caused by the rectangular windows in the early models. Stress built up in the corners and the fuselage split open. They changed to oval or at least rounded corners on all airplanes after that.

I thought that was the De Havilland DH106 Comet, but I could be wrong.

You aren't wrong. The poster was mistaken, as it was the Comet with the window issue.

The Constellation crashes were numerical typical for prop passenger planes of that era. Plane safety has come a long way.

1940's Kilgore Model 105 cap gun - I find it kind of amusing that someone put the plastic orange "warning this isn't a real gun" tags on a collector's item.

As I recall one of the Connie crashes was a mid air over the Grand Canyon.

It did use the same basic engine as the B29 but I think most of the kinks had been ironed out by the post war era.

I had cap guns as a kid and never worried about getting shot by an amped up cop.

Unlike today.

spent many hours playing with these. Friends and I would set em up and throw or roll marbles or balls or other objects at them. kind of a last man standing thing.
