So claiming the Ancient Egyptians were black didn't start in the '60s...

I own that same model of Jeep (axe and shovel included). I need to get one of those windshield covers. I found some for sale, but they all have the Army star and mine is a USMC jeep.
ETA: The straps that secure the shovel and axe have to be strapped a very specific way. I was able to blow up this photo and redo mine.

Art Arfons and the Green Monster.
Arfons had a story he used tell. Craig Breedlove and he traded the speed record back in forth. Breedlove became super famous overnight when he set the record at a then incredible 608 mph in the Spirit of America.
Shortly after Breedlove set the record, he and Arfons were leaving the flats to go to their hotel. They began to race in their personal cars.
A state trooper pulled over both cars. He walked up to Arfon's car and said, "who do you think you are, Craig Breedlove?"
Arfons replied, "no, but you're never going to guess who is driving the other car." The state trooper let them go after he got a couple of autographs.

I used to think that Elle MacPherson (who I've seen in person and she is astonishingly hot) was the best looking tall woman of all time. Julie Newmar, however, might give her a solid run for the money:
Julie Newmar was 5'11". Elle was 6'0". I also think Elle was one of top women of her time. Two young models I've known and photographed, when wearing their heels, were 6'7 1/2" and 6'9" respectively and quite stunning. Standing next to them felt a little uncomfortable for a guy of average height and they were also both self-conscious about their height.

Biloxi Beach Amusement Park and Goofy Golf. Hurricane Camille wiped it out.

I still have tickets for a free round in an old scrap book around here from the 1970's when it was called "Goofy Golf." Everybody else from our little Podunk town in east Kentucky went to Myrtle Beach. We went to Biloxi and had a hell of a lot of fun there.
Wonder if anyone has any pictures of the Deer Park or Marine Land from back then?

Maybe, but it was in operation decades after 1969’s Camille. (Note post 1969 cars in your photo.) It was however wiped out in 2005 by Katrina and did not reopen.
