I know the timeframe and all is wrong, but damn if that doesn't look like Drew Carey.

Oh, what the heck... Why not post this one again. This time with color because I really wanted to see what this one would look like with more than black and white.

I like these every day photos you run across on occasion, Mauser.

I can't imagine how that place smelled after all those rainstorms hit and turned most of it into a huge mud puddle.

1972. The Country was already going to shite. You would have never seen a woman out in public with curlers in her hair in 1962.

1933. Held up so well that as kids 25-30 years later, we wouldn't miss it when it was on TV.

For some reason I can't see the photo you posted, but this caption tells me what I need to know about it. I was thinking about tis exact thing the other day. My mother and sister never went out in public with their hair in rollers, but I remember seeing plenty of my friends' moms out in public with their hair in curlers. (Usually at the grocery.)

With a scarf over their curlers. This was very common in the 60s and early 70s.

Not true. As another poster said, it was very common to see women in curlers with a scarf covering their heads at the grocery store. The grocery basket full of kids and groceries. Hell, my mom was one of them.

Wasn't always a scarf. Just as often it was a mesh net. I remember both well and thinking that they ought to finish getting dressed at home rather than in public. And, of course, even back then there were those who would go out into public to shop while wearing their fuzzy house slippers.
