The Gathering Photo
You know this is fake right? Been around for years. Google is your friend.
"The "The Gathering" photo is a fake. The image, which claims to show a meeting of historical figures like Teddy Roosevelt, Butch Cassidy, and the Sundance Kid, is actually a real photograph of men at Hunter's Hot Springs Hotel in Gallatin County. The popular internet story of the gathering is a hoax, though the photograph itself is not".

Tourists used to be able to freely climb up the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt to sunbathe and have tea parties

It's a Spanish-speaking station these days.
Yep. That was the other one.
They suffered the same fate. Only Spanish / Latin.

That's pretty cool. That house is still there and sitting across form that elementary school on government street. Crazy how there are no trees. If that picture showed a little more to the right you would see my old house on Oleander.

That house probably cost around $10k to build then, maybe $12k.

The Future Queen Elizabeth II of England, 1926-2022, a 2nd subaltern in the Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) stands by an ambulance in April 1945. Decades later, The Queen is photographed gazing at a mannequin wearing a uniform similar to what she wore years prior.

Two interesting things stood out to me in this logo:
1.The word balloon at the top can either read "KLOL" (the station call letters) IF the Ls are lowercase, or can mean" K101" (the nickname including the frequency).
2. The speaker grill portion of the radio (containing the "eyes" on the anthropomorphic radio that has arms and legs) includes the peace sign. Makes me think this logo was designed in the late 60s/early 70s when the peace sign was still a thing...

Elizabeth II had more ball than her son will ever have.

Does anyone remember when WFMF (WJBO-FM) was an AOR station called Loose Radio FM 102?

I don't remember that, but I wish it had been that way when I was in school at LSU. I do remember Tiger 100.7FM with the TV ads - "Sistah! Come ovah heah an' help me play this one on the organ!" (She looked sorta like Dana Carvey's Church Lady from SNL.)

Thanks for the 2025 picture. That is exactly the house I thought it was. Held up nicely for 112 years!

Anyone else notice it looks a lot smaller in the current pic with that big 2 story next to it. In the old pic it looks HUGE sitting alone with nothing around it to give its size away.
