These serve in box cereals were a staple on our family trips as a kid.

My mom wanted to drive really early, but hated to drive during dawn or dusk. So, we had these and some milk in a cooler. She would get us up and start driving at around 3am, stop near dawn at a rest area for breakfast, and then drive until lunch once the sun was high enough for her.

Those box/bowls were really convenient.

Yep, the days of "Art Deco" design in almost everything from buildings to toasters. Most of that stuff looked so elegant and sleek back then------the proverbial "It looks to be going 100 mph just sitting still".

The guy giving that Japanese soldier a cigarette placed himself at some risk as some of the Japanese soldiers had grenades and would kill themselves and the Marines who came up to them.
