Been there.
Poor bastards that live right around there.
fricking tourists all fricking day & night.
George sneaking a heater, like Liberace said: “One way or another, those butts will get you in the end.”

That record didn't last too long...
In June, 1935, the Key brothers flew a Curtiss Robin monoplane named Ole Miss from Meridian, Mississippi's airport for twenty-seven days.
They landed on July 1 after traveling an estimated 52,320 miles and used more than 6,000 gallons of gasoline. The non-stop endurance flight lasted 653 hours, 34 minutes. The Ole Miss is permanently displayed in the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

If true, hell of an aircraft and even more a hell of a pilot to keep it in the air.
I'm just as interested in whether the pilot avoided injury from bullets and flak

Those old records are so damn interesting. The hunt brothers changed spark plugs in flight. They refueled every 6 hours but by the end had to do it every 3 hours due to fuel leaks. Another plane supplied the fuel.
It was one hell of a feat
