Sounds awesome. Y'all gonna be like those couples on House Hunters International retiring in Ecuador or Costa Rica?
Yes and the front runners are St John and TCI. Honestly I see us being 50/50 between the states and an island. I do want to have a business down there and if I do that would mean that I'd spend the bulk of my time on the island. I don't see that as a losing proposition.

You really need to be independent as a nurse as a traveler cause you basically get 1 shift of orientation and then you are on your own with a full assignment.
A buddy of mine is one right now. I also have family that just finished up doing it. I already have a connection with a company that places the nurses. Can't wait.

If you can't pick up and move for a job opportunity, then you limit yourself. A ton of people forever limit their financial mobility because they refuse to be geographically mobile. I've worked in 8 states, and love where I ended up.
That's the beauty of the USA. You can move around from state to state as your heart and wallet desire, and still have the same constitutional protections no matter where you go. Each state can try different policies and the people can vote with their feet. Unfortunately, the Federal government is hell bent on making all states the same because they "know better."

I'll probably get to it at some point, just a matter of when (have to see some options). good luck with your decision

Pack up and go. The worst thing that can happen is you have some great new experiences. If you don't like it, you can always try somewhere else.

Share your thoughts and experiences on this topic. I myself am considering this. Freshly graduated college and nothing tieing me down.
I moved to L.A. within 6 months of graduating college which was the best choice ever!

Do it! It'll change you in the best ways. I recommend moving to another country if that's possible.

I just did this last month. Been in Baton Rouge all throughout my childhood, went to LSU, etc. I saw an opportunity in Dallas and went for it. Left everything I knew back home. I've already made a few new friends, and things seem to be going good right now. It's a little uncomfortable at first, but that's a good thing. I feel that the only way a person can grow both personally and professionally is to put themselves in uncomfortable situations and work their way through it. Good luck!

I always get jealous of people on House Hunters who get a job transfer to some amazing country(Spain or England or Bahamas.....lucky bastards!)

Y'all should have been on HH. You would be the total opposite of the annoying wives on there I just know it!
But yeah....those bitches suck
"Oh no....this mansion with an ocean view has dark kitchen cabinets!!! This just won't do!"

I know a lady who was on one episode. They live in Brussels.

Sold everything I had and moved to Vegas about 6 months after I graduated. Ended up staying 5 years. Greatest decision I made.
Had a new job that moved me back to BR, few years back. Took the job, money was better, but I have had enough of BR. Once I left home I shouldn't of come back, now in the process of trying to leave again for good hopefully. I miss the west coast area.

Move. After spending 7 years in BR, moving back to Lafayette for work felt like a dream. I can't even imagine somewhere actually legit.

I end up screaming "you can change cabinets but you can't change the view" at the TV. It makes my blood pressure go up.

Excellent decision, and I'm still basically doing it. Not settling in one place til I'm content with it.

Where are you headed to next?

Go work at a ski resort or a place like jackson hole for a full year. Met several people from the south who worked in fly fishing or bike shops up there for the hell of it and it seemed like a cool gig to do before you start your career, if you can make yourself leave.
