I hunted with him in 2001or 2002. He was a real man’s man. Straight as an arrow. The world needs more just like him. Prayers for the Duck Commander and his family. Stand up dude for sure.

He was definitely a little rough in his early days, he admitted it and turned himself around in his later years. Old boy deserves a little grace, he’s made it square with the big man.

I don't know much other than what I read about him. Seemed like a good dude. I used to love the first 3 or 4 seasons of the show.

Are you judging? It's a simple yes or no. I don't need an explanation for your answer

Don't cherry pick the article....
And.....he did not marry a 15 year old.

He added: “Now, that’s a joke, and a lot of people seem to laugh at it, but there is a certain amount of truth in it.”

Who in here said they idolized Phil?
Christians don't idolize anyone/anything, but God......it's one the "Big Ten"

Look, you wait ’til they get to be 20 years old, the only picking that’s going to take place is your pocket,” he says. “You got to marry these girls when they are about 15 or 16. They’ll pick your ducks. You need to check with mom and dad about that, of course.”

I guess I missed the part where he said you needed be a man much older than her then when you do this.

He’s obviously talking a man finding his bride when they’re both young. He’s from the generation that married young, same as the one before him.

You hate to hear this.

Just had a virtue signaling dick head glorifying this on Facebook. I think that has me more pissed than the actual death.

Reading comprehension?

Seems obvious to me he’s stating that young “men”… in his case, 16 years old, should just go ahead and marry the girl when they are BOTH young. I haven’t seen anything to suggest that he’s saying a 40yr old man should marry a 15 year old.

But do you know in what phase of his life he said it?

Phil was just a man. All men have done something wrong in their life. If you are looking for perfection then you can put every person in this world alive today and those that have passed in the same dim view you have of Phil. EVERYONE has done something that you know or believe to be "wrong".

You can know right from wrong as you believe it to be BUT you can't judge a person to heaven or hell.

So your thoughts on Phil are wasted. You would be better served to spend the time studying the bible.

[quote]Phil isn't a good person. I do not condone anyone who thinks it's ok to marry 15 year olds and you shouldnt either.[/quote

This is kind of a disingenuous take. People who find a teenager physically attractive are not pedophiles. People who are attracted to kids who are younger than that are the sick pedophiles.

There’s nothing biologically wrong with finding a teenager attractive. People are sexually mature and perfectly capable of reproducing at that point. In fact, people often got married by the time they were 13 or 14 in the old days.

It’s only recently within the last century or so that that has become culturally inappropriate and unacceptable.

As we all must. Peace is not the absence of conflict. Not one of us is immune from making shitty decisions.

Just this Christians opinion but God has a plan for us. It’s up to us to fill in how we live and accept it.

Even then we can discuss why the magic age of 18 in the USA holds water. The magic age varies from nation to nation. I don't think we have any reason to change it. As a civilized nation we need something to work with but even in the case of a 40 year old man marrying a 15 year old girl. At 15 she is still in need of studies and more maturity but a 15 year old girl has everything she needs to become a woman. There is 25 years difference. You can find a few couples with that much difference that are further along in life and people don't question the females age. Just the age difference which will be later in life.

The main point is that even if it were taken the way whatiknowsofar is trying to say Phil has said nothing immoral nor unlawful. If the parents say it's o.k. then there is nothing wrong here. No harm, no foul, no sin, ....
