According to the “Duck Dynasty” family, Phil Robertson, 78, has been struggling with recent health issues that have also caused him to not appear on the family’s podcast.
Jase Robertson revealed his father’s diagnosis on Friday’s “Unashamed with The Robertson Family” podcast episode.
“According to the doctors, they are sure that he has some sort of blood disease that is causing all kinds of problems,” Jase Robertson shared. “And he has early stages of Alzheimer’s.”

the late 70's are rough. Makes me sick since my father turned will turn 78 this Spring. Feels like I'm waiting for the guillotine to fall.

78, has lived a great one, and more to come.
Godspeed for best outcome but I’ll bet he’s at peace with it.

That is very sad. Phil is a good guy.

If he has alzheimers they'd be doing him a kindness to let the other disease take him.

Alzheimer's has got to be the worst thing to watch someone go through. It's so sad seeing a loved one's mind fail.

My mother was an artist, an avid reader, a wonderful cook, made quilts for wounded soldiers and loved being with her grandchildren. At the end she couldn't speak, couldn't feed herself and weighed 85 lbs.
I won't go out that way. I have an exit strategy. When I feel myself slipping I'm going to implement it.

so many people waiting anxiously for retirement so they can "finally start living". Thats an unfortunate way to live life.
I try and live as frugally as possible to both have the freedom to take time off work in the present and hopefully achieve a retirement a bit earlier.
If you want a scare, buy an Advocate and open up the obit pages. Hint, its not full of 95 yearolds. Its 50's,60's and 70's. Thats not even considering many of those were sick long before actually expiring.

Watched my uncle die from it. Saw him for the last time and it was very hard watching him fight to breathe. Something I'll never forget. But he was good with the Lord and he's doing a lot better today.
RIP Unc
