When can the FDA step in and force the sale?
I do not understand how this works. These meds are available anywhere general anesthesia is used. Once a hospital buys it, the drug is theirs to with as they please, no?
Pfizer can frick off. FDA should step in to break the monopoly they have on Viagra. No way they should still have the patent on a 20 year old med. that is shady.

JACKSON, Miss. — The Mississippi House wants to allow the state to execute prisoners using a firing squad if officials decide lethal injection is too expensive or unavailable.
The House amended Senate Bill 2237 Friday, which dealt with making the execution process secret, passing it 80-39 and sending it back to the Senate for more work.

Yeah I'm not sure either. Seems like the FDA could do something but I doubt they give a shite.

I'm far from a bleeding heart liberal, but a firing squad doesn't seem very humane, particularly when there are other methods available.

Essentially instant death isn't humane?

why not a gas chamber?
I watched a show on Discovery Ch about the death penalty. They interviewed a guy that worked on death row in MS. He had witnessed death by gas chamber, electric chair, and lethal injection. When asked if he had to chose one to die. His reply when done right the electric chair was the way to go. He said the gas chamber was brutal.

Those found guilty of crimes heinous enough to warrant the death penalty gave their victims a death lacking of humanity.
I do not believe one bit that a murderer deserves a nice peaceful way to die. It should be tortuous, painful, drawn-out and truly a deterrent to those that currently have no fear of the ramifications of killing other human beings.
I'm not looking for sharia law, but I would like for killers to experience a great amount of pain before put to death.

I get that, I really do, but that isn't the way our legal system works. Within the confines of the law, a firing squad seems a bit much. Bullet to the head? I guess, but multiple people lining you up against a wall and shooting you from 20 feet away seems a bit barbaric.
Death is the punishment, at least according to our legal system. The pain leading up to that death is not really the goal.
CO2 seems like a solid, relatively peaceful way to go.

Why would you need to buy anything from a drug company?
Couldn't you just buy Executioner In A Drum, from India or China?

I personally think we should bring back boiling in oil.
It always struck me that King Henry VIII missed out on a perfect comedy opportunity. He should have had his second wife Anne executed like that.
That way he could've walked by her casually as she was being killed And remarked, "Oh look. it's Anne...
Boilin'"

Surprising since getting shocked just a little hurts like a mutha.
People OD on heroin all the time. Seems alright way to go. Or They kill themselves with car exhaust in a garage pretty easily. That looks like the best way.
Or a bullet. Or a rope. This shouldn't be so complicated.

Doesn't that involve a horde of cannibals sodomizing someone before killing and eating him?
I'd sign up for that job.

I love it when people get sympathy for crimnals getting executed. I could care less if they suffer, they are criminals, they deserve to die if they murder.

Well at least you care a little.
