Millennials: Born 1981-1996 (22-37 years old)

I've got a nephew and 2 nieces born between '92 and '96. They don't fit the mold of Millennials. Also 2 nephews born 2 and 4 years later; between music, cars, etc, my brother and I agree that they were born in the wrong decade.

1981 is fine, but 1996 is absurd.

The whole definition is that you came of age during the change in millennium. 1996 means they were 4 at that time.

Agreed.

1988 here. A big question for younger people is: do you remember 9/11 vividly? Did it leave an impact on you? If not, then are too young to be a millennial IMO.

What kind of name is the silent generation?

Is that named for the generation that stayed silent on rape and sexual assault?

That's also a pretty good benchmark for Gen X. If you weren't a legal adult on 9/11 you're too young to be Gen X.

Being prime draft age on 9/11 was a bit concerning

I worked for the state right out of college for a few years and we were evacuated from the state capital on 9/11 and given the rest of the day off

People being triggered by their generation label given to them is such a millennial thing to do

Obviously not every millennial is the same. Not everyone in the greatest generation stormed Normandy either.

I think you still color outside the lines because your nephew and 2 nieces are clearly millinials
