His change.org petition would send the petition to the US House and Senate. Does he not know how federalism works?
Also, with this petition, you could get many people who don't even live in Jeff Davis Parish to sign on. This is just too stupid.

Is St. George Parish still available?

If the citizens of Jeff Davis vote on changing the name, I have absolutely no problem with it. I do however have a huge problem with soy boys from Orleans parish and whereever else thinking they should have any say with a parish that they live 150+ miles from

I vote for Sorrell Booke Parish,

I mean the Parish should have never been named for him in the first place.

Floyd Parish would be fitting

Rename the Parish at your own peril....
Next time you need an Ortho in Duluth you’ll be SOOL.

With the pedophilia that occurred in the church, will some folks call for the parishes named for saints to be changed? Just name them 1-64 so everyone feels safe. But don’t use 13 because some feel that’s bad luck.

#12A because you explicitly decreed:

Just name them 1-64 so everyone feels safe

Sounds like this #65 issue might be a loss for Winn.

What are they going to rename it Meth Parish? Crimes Against Nature Parish?

I'm surprised this didn't happen years ago.
There's really no good reason to have a Parish in SW LA named after him.
It's not like he's from there.

Anything honoring Jefferson Davis should be renamed. I’d suggest naming it after Thomas Jefferson, or George Jefferson if that would placate the protestors better.

Why didn’t they do a petition for the statues?

How many people these days even know who Jefferson Davis was?
Considering that the majority of Americans learn about the Civil War through visiting statues, I would say quite a bit.
But the next generation will be fricked.
