Following WW1 & Spanish Flu, Jazz & swing music exploded during the Roaring 20s across the globe.

Following The Great Depression & WW2, Rock n Roll had gymnasiums & dance halls filled with bobby soxers.

Following the tumultuous late 60s political assassinations & the Vietnam War, Disco dominated radio airwaves, nightclubs & roller rinks.

Following multiple Middle Eastern Wars & 9/11, we saw the rise of Dance-Pop & famous DJ-EDM.

So what will follow the turmoil of the 2015-2020 protests, skyscreaming, and rioting???? It's probably some genre in it's early form right now (as most of the happy music genres were already in existence prior to their global explosions). Maybe something related to Dance Hip Hop or Pop-Country-Rap??? I'm not optimistic about whatever it is that will soon dominate pop culture.

Nobody ever wrote great music when they were happy. The best works come from those on the verge of suicide.

If 2020 killed Bro Country it would make a lot of people happy.

That’s weird. I’ve been listening to really dark stuff like

Slayer - Reign in Blood
At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
Trivium - Shogun, Vengance Falls
In Flames - Whoracle

You're right, 2018 brought us this gem:

quote:

I swallow his kids
I swallow his kids
I swallow his kids
Now they swimming in my stomach

Keep swimming, go fishy, go sperm, aye
Got life jackets, got boats, lifesavers, hey
Just keep swimming like Nemo, Dory, Cory
It’s a murder scene but its not gory

Im a thick bitch, Bad bitch
Thick lips, Knack this
I can't waste a package
I'm planning to do some damage

My kitty got him acapelling
Vitarah’s Secret I can't tell him
I rock him like a fella
So good I should be selling

Unh, I be sucking dick like all day
I like sucking dick cause it taste like watermelon
Please nut on my face
I rub it in my face
Like a facial
My skin is clear no pimple

Some mornings I have to turn on Just Let Go by Sturgill Simpson when I have my coffee. I am hoping for more of that stuff.

The best music was post Vietnam until about the mid 80s.

We need a musical revival. Bro country, todays pop, rap etc is all garbage. Not a single genre produces anything of substance

Christ, I just listened to some. Didn’t know it was even a genre. It was like retro-80s synth you might hear in a movie or video game.
