But today tells me that the end of recorded time has never been closer. If that last day is tomorrow, are you ready?
This place is just so messed up and I don’t see it getting any better any time soon

We have had a brewing culture of collectivist leftists. That ideology, always speaking in terms of power and oppression, ironically seek only victory by any means to not simply prove their ideas valid but to oppress their ideological opposition and take and hold power. They do so through any means: lies, gaslighting, victim blaming, and chiefly violence.
Those who celebrate this murder are NOT Americans regardless of their citizenship status. They do not believe in fair sport or individual freedom. They celebrate the murder of the best example of a calm speaker who invited and spoke to anyone of any ideological background with love. His ideas were backed by love, yet they called him hateful.
The masks are off.

Charlie, provided a platform for "civil disclosure" on politics at college campuses in a civil manner.
For providing a platform where you can ask questions or state your opinions all for the next generation.
He was shot for that.

Correct - and a U.S. Senator (Mike Lee) applauded it. There's a giant thread calling out the courtyard brewery guy (who sucks) so you would expect similar treatment for the former?
Gun violence and political violence are an issue in this country requiring our immediate and unified attention and trying to act like each "side" is in support of a heinous act because of the politics of the victim is really going to get us nowhere.

News and social media algorithms realizing with frightening efficiency that stoking political tribalism is the quickest way to maximize engagement/profits has irreparably fricked the US.
It’s a fricking cancer on this country.

So it's okay to kill people for saying things you disagree with? When it's someone you don't agree with who gets murdered, it's just "consequences"? Got it.
You made quite a logical leap. Saying something happens isnt the same as saying its ok. Babies die in their cribs. Children die of cancer. None of these things are ok.
Saying that people have always known there could be repercussions for what they say isnt saying its ok.
In the wild wild west and medieval times, peoole could and would challenge you to a duel over things you said.
In school if you made a mom joke about someone and they got pissed you might end up in a scrap. Are you trying to say that before yesterday people could say anything they wanted with no fear that someone could cause them harm over it?
That has never been the case. It isnt OK to kill someone for upsetting you, but its dumb to pretend it hasnt always been the case.
People get shot and killed for saying the wrong thing to the wrong person all the time. It isnt OK, its just life.

Kool Aid thinking
Time to check your vulnerability to the commercial political division apparatus.
Appears quite high.
Consider turning off your Twitter feed or news hose pipe of choice for a few minutes.

It is weird for someone to think right now is the closest weve ever been to end times. Im sure many at the Battle of Antietam had the same sentiment and absolutely anyone present for the fire bombing of Tokyo

I mean we're shocked by it because it happened today (and on camera), but public figures have been killed for their words/views for a long time.
Not just public figures....normal, ordinary everyday people are also killed for their words and views and have been for a long time. Pretty famously 8 years ago a fricking idiot ran down a woman in Virginia for her words and views. Too long ago to count? In June of this year 5 people expressing their views were ran over in 2 separate incidents, fortunately none died. This is not a free speech issue as much as some want to make it. We are free to say nearly anything we damn well please. We are not free from some idiot being offended and acting a damned fool. They will most likely wind up in jail but that will only happen AFTER they have committed a crime and there is one or more victims.
