Perfume -- mailing in a package or flying with it in your suitcase

So I was mailing a package to my daughter and it had a super small sample "bottle" of perfume. Lady said it would have to go by ground and not air. No biggie.

But then I thought about it -- when I fly, my checked bag always has a small bottle of perfume packed.

So why can I fly with it in a checked bag but USPS can't fly with it? Lady said they ask questions that the FAA tells them to.

Just thought it was odd.

Anything liquid, perishable, fragile, potentially hazardous such as lithium batteries or perfume ?

Difference between being in sealed luggage that is traceable to you vs a box?

A so-so thread, by my estimation.

Luggage and freight are stored in separate bays.

How are perfumes shipped from France to the USA? You won't convince me that such goods are transported only on ships, it's expensive.

Heaven forbid your bottle of Sex Panther breaks and gets all over the luggage.

The smell would probably permeate through the plane and it would have to be decommissioned and scrapped after making an emergency landing.

USPS doesn’t want it exploding all over everyone else’s packages.

My guess

I looked it up. It can't be shipped internationally because of alcohol content. That makes no sense but look it up. That's what it says
