I educated myself on the matter and chose a path that would get me there without compromising my health and then just exhibited patience and persistence.

OMAD sounds like the real deal. I will start tomorrow. Thanks for the tip. First couple of days seem to be the hardest from what I read here.

If you find it difficult to jump straight into, you can always scale back and start slowly at 16:8 fasting which is 16 hours fasted and an 8 hour eating window. A 12 PM-8 PM eating window is popular. Some people do this with 2 meals a day and no snacking. I started with 16:8 and then went to 20 hours fasted, 4 hour eating window (like 3 PM-7 PM), and then OMAD within the span of about a month. You still need to calculate your calories with something like TDEE Calculator and subtract like 500 from that to get an idea of your daily calorie limit. OMAD and fasting have tons of benefits aside from weight loss, but if weight loss is your goal you still need to be eating below “maintenance” which is what the TDEE calculator calculates. Eating clean will help a ton (I cut out rice, pasta, bread, candy, added sugar, etc. and mainly only eat meat, fish, shrimp, veggies, fruit, nuts, yogurt, cheese, and occasionally complex carbs like quinoa).

Also—I drink black coffee, sparkling water, and water while “fasting”. This is a heavily debated topic, but I’m not really doing it for autophagy which the diehards are trying to achieve. I’m considering an extended water fast (48-72 hours) and in that case I’ll supplement with electrolytes. From what I gather it’s not really necessary to supplement with simply OMAD/IF.

There’s a ton of good info out there online, the H&F board of TD and Reddit being good starting points.

I personally attribute this to sugar withdrawals

Good luck!

Just reduce calories and you can still eat all of that.

Eat what you want, out of ramekins. I mean anything you want. Learn to be satisfied, by small portions.

Water fast once a month for 24 hours. Let your body rid yourself of fat and bad cells.

No gym, necessary, just walk and be active.

I am 5'0 and was once 140+ and am now not that.

There’s no magical shortcut which is healthy.

Eat right. Exercise. Drink tons of water. Cut down on alcohol heavily.

Have discipline to do those things and you’ll lose weight, guaranteed.

Lost almost 40 from about 238-240 to 200ish in about 7-8 months.

I consumed less calories and moved around more than I had before.

Good advice when you are young, terrible advice when you get old.

Too much water when you are old flushes out vitamins and minerals. Mimics a stroke, and once you wind up in the hospital it takes a month or two to get you fluids back.

Eat less and start off slow. Pick a program and go with it. Don't force yourself to do the entire thing when you first start, build up to it.

However, the easiest way to lose weight is jump on a treadclimber for an hour a day, keep increasing the speed while maintaining that same hour. You'll see result after your first month, better result your second, and by the third month, the fat would be melting off of you.

No elastic in the crotch. Buy a new suit that isn’t stretched out.

And eat a fricking cheeseburger.

No one ever talks about how to maintain your weight. It’s always about losing it. Maintaining it is not easy to do.
