Had this conversation with my buddies last night.

Seems it could suck at times.

Airports. The boarding process. The abundance of travelers that don’t know what the hell they’re doing.

or, the TSA process. People that get the TSA pre-check and have no clue what that means.

Cab drivers. Shitty hotels with no hotel bar. People with no self awareness on planes.

The actual traveling is by far the worst part. You really never get used to those 10+ hour flights

But once you get there its great and the extra pay is nice

The fact that you are stuck away from your kids and your normal routine. Hotel gyms suck. Eating restaurant food for most meals. Not having my own coffee.

I could go on.

1. Not being home with family
2. Airports
3. Hotels
4. Stinky rental cars
5. No time to do fun things, play golf, etc..
6. Getting up extremely early, so, of course, not sleeping good beforehand.
7. People who cancel meetings that you fricking left your home halfway across the country to meet with.

I don't do it anymore but I traveled for about a decade 20'ish weeks per year.

Living out of a suitcase kind of sucks after a while. Spending tons of time in airports, eating out every meal, missing things at home. I quit when my daughter was 2 or 3.

On the plus side, I got to see much of North America on someone else's dime and you tend to save a lot of money traveling because you aren't spending much of your own. My wife came to a few cool places with me too and we were only out her ticket, food and maybe an extra night or two of the hotel.

Easiest answer is people. Thankfully, I don't travel much anymore for work, and only fly once a year for work travel. If I spent a lot of time in airports I'd be miserable.

Or he's never been paid a draw against 100% commission.

Not everyone works for the govt or fortune 500 companies either.
