Hey Dave...I wish my 70 pound dog would crawl out of my nice warm comfy bed and bite ur nuts off.....I would much rather spend my time with her as company than you. She loves every person and animal that crosses her path. A loving creature who deserves care...You..not so much.

Our pup is living his best dog life. Every day.

He’s super spoiled and I think we are lucky to be able to give him that.

He loves it.

He eats a raw meat diet and gets plenty of exercise so I feel like he’s getting the cave-dog necessities but also enjoying the perks of modern life.

He’s a working dog and keeps up his end of the bargain.

Labs were bred as working dogs but they've evolved into a secondary role as companions. They would be lonely AF without people

Dogs do have social needs. They are naturally social animals and have been bred to be dependent on humans. They also need exercise and to be walked for their health. If you make the choice to keep an animal then you are taking responsibility to meet its needs. The particulars of these needs do depend on the specific animal obviously, but it might be reasonable to think that some dogs' needs aren't being met by its owners. It's a thing that happens.

Also, just having dogs run loose in a neighborhood is a huge liability issue.

German Shepherds need a human to revolve around. They're loyal to almost a fault. They thrive on protecting and being there for you.

Too much anthropomorphism and imagining all sorts of things about their dog as some sort wish fulfillment about friendship. Imagining your dog needs your full attention and care and treating them as if they were human babies. The idea that it’s inhumane for a dog to be outside if it’s raining or dark outside for example.

My Labrador wouldn’t last a week without me, she’d likely explode because she won’t take a shite if I don’t watch her back.
