People should not get a dog unless they are going to care for (including paying attention to and training) their dog(s)

Also add to this heartworm prevention, flea prevention and a yearly check up with the vet.

Hmmm I figured this would be about the 18 dogs who ate their owner

Your post isn’t entirely true and depends on the dog. Some can’t handle the wild or inclement weather. A lot of dogs were bred for certain things and exist in areas where climate isn’t suitable for them.

A husky won’t do well in the heat of the Deep South for example.

My GFs yorkie doesn’t handle heat or cold very well at all.

Pit Bulls can’t survive in neighborhoods without children to eat

Well, we could never associate.

I'm sure you're shattered by that.

First of all, its about responsibility. If you are going to be a dog owner you don't half arse it. If you leave it outside at least have a place it can go under when it rains.

When you have a dog it becomes a part of your family. They have their own personalities. I've read that dogs can have the mental capability of a 2 year old. For many people, especially older people they are their companions.

Unlike possums, rats, birds, frogs, etc, etc. Dogs are domesticated.

Dogs are dogs and they don’t need humans to care for them. Letting them run free is imo a responsible thing towards the dog since they aren’t cooped up in a damned house, it’s just not responsible towards your neighbors. Weirdos
i have a chihuahua. He would die in a matter of minutes dropped off in the wild. In a neighborhood he may last half a day
