i've contemplated going for the social aspect, but it's just too churchy.

It's not for me. I've skipped wedding ceremonies and just shown at the reception if I knew it wouldn't be noticed.

I smoked some pot!
I drank a 12 pack!
I watched some porn and whacked off!

Just kidding. I went to church. I love Jesus.

There are no circumstances that religious mental gymnastics cannot escape from.

In.

Went to brunch at CCLA.

Perfect sample size of all the church folk.

It was full of bow tie bros.

Pretty funny.

Normally, CCLA brunch is empty. Three tables max at 1130.

Today was ridiculous. Extra wings of rooms for all the extras.

why does everyone feel the need to fake it on easter and christmas?
is there really a social status thing attached with being active in church?

I like your stories about your in-laws' cooking.

Well I don't go to mass (Catholic) but the extra 200 people at CCLA brunch that are not normally there made my mimosas come out slowly and that's just not cool with me.

CCLA brunch is buffet. Seriously.

GF went to church this morning since she's paid to play organ for a church in Baton Rouge. When she came home, we had a light breakfast and exchanged Easter baskets filled with some thoughtful small gifts we got one another.

Then we drove to my parents' home in New Orleans where we feasted on lamb, shrimp kabobs, and shrimp & eggplant dressing. Had a laid back time with my sister, her husband, my grandma, and my aunt.

We then drove home where we are watching tv before heading to bed for a busy work week. No church needed for me. I'm too #blessed already

I am in the same boat. I like the routine. I am not sure what I believe, but going to church does my mind some good.
