Can they really tell the difference between 72 and 73 degrees?

I think it's proof that evolution is fake. No way homosapien could have been around for 80,000-100,000 years.
Because it's obvious that humanity will die off if it goes over 74 or under 72 degrees for even a few minutes.

probably not. But when you're cold/hot and you move it one degree in the other direction you stir the air and it becomes more comfortable

ETA: would you rather a calm 95* summer day or a 95* summer day with a 10mph wind?

I wouldn't know because mine never sees that. Never higher than 70 in winter and never lower than 75 in summer

I could run it nonstop and I don't think it will ever get that low. I think I have terrible insulation on my house or something. Either that or my thermostat is screwed up

ETA: 77 in my house midsummer is much more comfortable than 77 at my moms

There are other factors at play. A 73 degree house with 25% humidity will feel much better than a 72 degree house at 60% humidity. Can't go by the temp alone.

I set both the upstairs and downstairs thermostats at my house on 71 degrees years ago. Only things that get's changed is to switch them between heat and cool depending on the time of year.

This is what I don't get. I don't notice....at all.

What's the temp say?
75
kick it to 73 degrees
(15 mins later) What's the temp say?
73
push it back up to 74
(10 mins later)
what's the temp?

Agreed about the humidity... Especially in LA & TX - makes a huge difference. De-humidifiers can help absorb moisture and cut a bit on electric bills.

Here's a chart I came across years ago which helps illustrate the real effects on temp.

You've been the worst poster on this board for two months now. I see you're trying to go for 3 in a row now. Good luck.

I keep putting it on 69. Wife hates it. And moves it to 70.
