I have a ton of friends like this and honestly I'm kind of jealous...... what neglect? shite, when your go off to college it's party time for mom and dad
This just proves what I've been saying. You're just jealous of couples that don't have kids. You're already wishing they were old enough to move out so you can get back to your life.

These threads always devolve to such dumb arguments. Not every person who has multiple kids either live vicariously through them or neglect them. Not every person who decides not to have kids is doing so because they want to prevent the passing on of their Huntington's disease.
I take it that the op is specifically talking about people like Pecker. It is well known that he and his wife are smart earners who don't want to have kids. Not because of disease, but they simply don't want them (as he says).quote:
He is the type of person who should be encouraged to have a child or two to promote the betterment of the human race.
If the smart, successful people with good values stop having kids, the future will be very dark.
Yours is a level-headed post, but I think there's a problem with the notion that one should be encouraged to have children. I think each person in the relationship will have a good sense of when the time is right. But that happens organically. It's not something that I think should take prompting.
And if it doesn't happen, based on reasons that everyone else finds acceptable or not, then those people weren't mean't to be parents.

That kids have diapers? Or that we want to do cool shite that doesn't involve diapers?

However, something just seems "off" when a healthy, young adult espouses that they definitely aren't going to have kids and have no desire to have kids.
We should be encouraging more people to not have kids. Especially ones who have no business raising them.
The problem is that most of the people opting to not have kids are the kinds of fiscally responsible people we need to be having kids.
The people who really shouldn't be having kids are the ones are government is paying to front poop out chirrens by the dozen.

And I'll get skewered for saying that, but we all have defects. I have plenty of mental defects.
But going against a biological imperative is surely signs of a mental defect.
I'll have to try to find the cure in Fiji or on a month long trip to Spain instead.

That you and your girl have decided not to have kids

I have a lot of respect for people who choose to have no kids or have only one or two. I have little respect for these idiots who insist on having 8 to 10 kids because they don't believe in responsible family planning.

It's clear from this thread that neither side understands the other, at all.
I disagree. I think I understand him perfectly. Just look at my post on the top of page 13 for proof. He admits that he is jealous of couples who's kids are moving out so he can get back to party time

Yep
That said, I think most of the people we say "should" have kids end up having kids. Almost all of my "no way we're having kids" friends have kids. You just nod when they tell you it's not happening and then wait.
The ones who say that and ultimately never do have kids - we probably don't want to have kids. Not to be too rude about it, but if you don't naturally come around to the idea of a family you're probably not cut out to be a parent, I'd think. I'm sure there are exceptions to that.

No issue with them until they try to provide advise on kids or parenting. Then, frick em.

Could it be that the only thing you had to talk about was your kids? Didn't you have adult things to talk about? Why didn't you talk about the cool places you've traveled to? Could it be that because of kids you were limited to a single yearly trip to the redneck riviera?
It wasn't just me, I got the same "complaints" from several other couples. It was blatant attention whoring. Could be a conversation between 3 or 4 couples and just one question within the talk like "Hey, how'd your son's team do last week?" and it never would fail, one of them would have to bring up the phrase "well we never could have kids". The whole point was they would demand attention early with their lifestyle and then had to change their story later to get the pity attention.

I was being sarcastic.
It's not for us. We'll spoil our nephews.
For some reason many people who have kids see it as a direct attack on their way of life or as an insult. People and family constantly try to convince us otherwise
Meanwhile, we're enjoying life

But, wouldnt not wanting to procreate also be going against the natural human way? Is that a mental disorder as well?
Them not wanting to have kids doesn't mean I have to see some lady boy go in the same bathroom as my wife.

quite the opposite...I actually feel bad for couples that dont/get to experience the joy children bring to you. It's just something I cant explain and unless you have children you will never understand.

My point in this thread was simply to point out a lack in consistent logic from many in here, and I succeded
Gay- not natural-mental issue
Trans-not natural-mental issue
Not wanting kids- frick you for judging and getting jealous
