So I go see Bill Burr last night, funny guy, good show....except....there were MULTIPLE "hecklers" in the crowd. I didn't pay to listen to you yell drunk, stupid comments at him while he's trying to do his show, shut the hell up and drink your 15$ beer.
There were two guys that were sitting behind me, they yelled out "MaNdElOrIaN" at least 10 times. After the first couple times of him completely ignoring it you would think maybe they would stop...nope.

rule of thumb is to never heckle a good standup comedian, you can't win, they'll cut you to shreds

Drunk people weren’t on their best behavior????

obnoxious attention whores desperately trying to get 5 seconds of fame by having a famous comedian engage them

the best was someone yelled out something incredibly dumb and he asked him to explain what the hell he was talking about... stopped in the middle of his joke and the patron wouldn't speak up. If you're going to do it, do it.

nothing worse than the guy that wants to give his commentary to everyone around.

Like in so many aspects of life it’s obviously all about them. frick the several hundred/thousand people who paid a substantial price for a night out they have something to say!

I've been drunk at plenty of comedy shows, yet I've never heckled a comedian

Man, I wanted to go to that. Was his subject matter similar to Paper Tigers?

I do not go to many comedy shows.
But I stopped going to the movie theater for the same reasons. People are stupid.

These are the same people who go to an intimate concert of [insert any musician] and after the opening song, while said musician is telling a story or otherwise talking to the audience proceed to yell “play [that one song that you’ll probably close with]” or “we love you [musician].”
Just shut the frick up!

Congrats. You're not an annoying drunk. Many people are.

Right.
Which was the point of my first comment...

Bill Burr is one of the worst comedians to heckle. He will rip you to shreds.

I mean drunk or not drunk, have a little consideration. If you were funny you would be the one up there telling jokes.

I was dating a chick a long time ago and while she was batshit crazy she was a great frick. Anyway we go to a comedy club and she heckles the comedian.....the comedians walks over to our table and quietly says "look I do this shite for living"; she didn't say another word

Hecklers have been a part of stand-up for ages. It’s just recently that it has started to disappear. I blame it on the current PC culture

so is 90% of the crowd at comedy shows, it's not an excuse to randomly scream out shite and ruin an act

It's just like people who talk or mess with their phones in a movie. It's a distraction. You can enjoy yourself without yelling crap out.
