I have absolutely no idea why this ruffles so many feathers. I don't do it. I can see someone's argument that it's not necessary. But I have no idea why it would anger or bother anyone in the least.

If you have to drive slow enough that you think you need your hazards then you should pull over.

There is no reason to be traveling that slowly on a highway. If you have a vehicle malfunction, pull over. If you are scared to drive in weather, pull over.

Sometimes road conditions and weather do not permit safe traveling at highway speeds.

Examples:

Blizzards
Heavy Downpours with standing water on the hwy
Ice
Heavy fog
Trucks traveling up steep inclines

We may not encounter those conditions around Louisiana but I have experienced each of those in other states.

I've been in rainstorms on the highway where everyone should have pulled over, but they don't. That's life.

Thankfully I've only had to deal with that kind of torrential downpour a handful of times.

As someone stated, you can't always maintain highway speeds in many weather events, and every one goes on with life, they don't just sit there all day.

Can't stand the drivers who pull onto the shoulder and keep their hazards on in a torrential downpour. I've always been told that could lead to others falling in line and rear ending them.

Depends. If you are driving across a bridge in a severe storm then I'm ok with it

I really think people in Louisiana actively look for stuff to piss them off

1. Fox News and talk radio
2. SJW's
3. Responding to/forwarding fake news on Facebook
4. Bitching about every little annoyance on the road
5. Complaining about how others raise their kids bc it doesn't match their own biased opinions
6. Finding any example of participation trophies being given
7. State gov't
8. AA community
9. Democrats

Have you ever seen someone get rear-ended because they're driving 40 mph under the speed limit?
