I grabbed a nice 1970s circa 350ci Chevy engine and transmission from neighbor's garbage. I dragged it on a piece of carpet back to my pad.

Why steal someone's Garbage? Sidney Torres will pick it up for $15 month. Personally. After Teddy ROUX BIN made his deposit, surely.

I really don't care as long as they don't get hurt and sue me. I don't put anything in there that can be used against me.

I have put old bikes, trailer tires (still on rim), kids ride on toys etc. at the street and usually within a day they are gone. Stuff like that never makes it to garbage day.

Man there are people who will ride around in my neighborhood waiting for people to put the trash out. They will not go through the garbage, but if someone puts something to the trash that doesn't fit in the garbage can they jump on it.

Last summer my mom bought some gatorade from Sam's and brought it to my house. It was a flavor I didn't like and it had been sitting in the kitchen for about 6 months. One day I just decided to put it to the trash.. It was a 32 count.. With 2 or 3 missing.. So there were about 30 gatorades in it. Some kids came knock on my door to ask if anything was wrong with the gatorades. I told them no. They asked if they could have them. I told them to go crazy. Take em. I looked out the window and one kid was carrying the box and the other two cracked one open and already started drinking.

There's a huge difference between "garbage" and "old stuff you don't nee anymore that you sit by the curb." Some people drive around looking for stuff like that to sell at garage sales, some like to fix old stuff, etc. If we have something that we know the trash men won't take in the garbage, we often sit it by the curb anyway because we know someone will take it. When the gates are left open in a gated subdivision, they feel like they hit the jackpot.
My father-in-law is like that - there's nothing that can't be fixed in his mind. I'll trash stuff and just buy a new one, but he wants to fix everything. I let him take it if he wants it, but I don't want it back. He and my brother-in-law were riding around picking up stuff by the curb after Katrina and got arrested for it. I guess there was a fine line between what was actually trash during those days. Drives me nuts that he does stuff like that because he is decently well off.

Man, my mom's husband is like this. The thing is, the dude has money, but he goes to the extreme with it. He has a lawnmower that has to be older than I am (i am in my 30s), every time I go there he is working on that SOB and complains because it breaks down while he is mowing.. He is in his 70s.... dude just go buy a new fricking lawn mower.

One day we were talking about debit cards (this was about a year ago & my mom just got one). He told me "I don't understand why she got one. The only people I can see who uses one of those are people with no money" I didn't know what to say for a second.. then I said "call me crazy, but if someone tries to rob me, I rather they take my card I can get deactivated than the $300 in cash I would have had to carry on me if I didn't have a debit card".
