I agree. I'm just more of a non intervention type of guy. I think the US would be safer, our soldiers safer if we worried less about protecting everyone else.

I kind of agree. We are the world's police force. Isn't that what the UN was designed for? Talk about a worthless organization.

Just think if Japan, and much of Europe had to provide for their own defense for the past 60 years? Be nice to have that money back. The US has over 600 military bases overseas.

No question. But, without that the Soviets would have taken over most of Western Europe. They had fought two brutal wars in less than 30 years. Our presence kept those bastards at bay.

Yes and quit giving billions in foreign aid to other countries. Protect our borders, beef up intelligence, and keep our submarine presence. No need for all that giving.

Yeah, forty years later. Western Europe didn't have the will power or man power to stop the Soviets without our troops and nukes.

We had my favorite president also Regan. Amazing that he and Gorbachev became really good friends. Must say watching that Berlin Wall come down virtually ending the cold war was a really good time to be an American.

That money would not go to where it was needed. I fricking hate 95% of politicians.

Doctors think they're God, but God doesn't think He's a doctor.

You can't measure a doctor's hubris as a patient (I'm saying this generally, not necessarily directed at you). They have to have that God mentality because second-guessing and being unconfident lead to major frick ups. But if you measure doctors' hubris against their colleagues, then the top two most hubristic are cardiologists first and orthopedists second.

My money for the most hubristic profession musicians, of any kind and at any level of success. They'll tell you what is and isn't good, irregardless of the fact that there's no argument for taste, and they think everyone should give more of a shite about them than they ever deserve.

95% of nurses I've met think they are the smartest people in the hospital. They know infinitely more than every other employee, including doctors. Also nurses and docs are the only 2 professions in the hospital that went to school.

Most Vets get it and don't brag. Some Vets feel as though people should hail them as heroes irregardless of what they did or failed to do in the Military. I enjoyed my time and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Of course it's basically welfare for those that can't get a real job.

Don't even bother with the fact that over 75% of Americans in their 20s aren't qualified or that the percentage goes up about 10% for every 5 years that you add to that group.
