Unfortunately I have to utilize the ER more than I'd like to.

Fortunately I don't have to wait, they always bring me straight on back.

I like to complain about ED docs who consult me at the most inconvenient times incessantly, so it all goes full circle.

This. As someone directly effected by all the crap ED physicians order...I say take your 3 day work week and 350K+ salary and quit your bitching.

I think I have to pay somewhere around $300 if I go to the ER vs a $20 copay to go to a Dr's office.

My back hurts. They usually give me a shot of something that starts with a D."Dilawda"...

I'll go to the ER only if I think I may die without going.

How about us residents who make $40k and have never heard of a 3 day work week?

If you are surgery, I feel bad at times. On bad nights, we annoy the shite out of y'all.

Who's insurance makes it so that the ER is a cheaper option. Or is it just that the ER will see you with no insurance? My insurance is way more expensive if it's an ER visit over a primary care doctor.
You are seen even if you have zero insurance in the ER.

Is there a hospital where that isn't the case? Because I will go to that hospital's ER if so. Does BRG Bluebonnet have to accept non-insurance patients as well?

I went to the ER 5 years ago at 3AM because I couldn't breathe (I was a smoker). They gave me a breathing treatment and admitted me. To this day, I haven't touched another cigarette and breathe great. Thanks ER.

We did the same thing with my first born. Except ours was $0 because we had already met our out of pocket max that year in the NICU.

Truthfully, It probably takes them 4-5 days/week to earn that. Around here, closer to 5. LA pays better though. Or they used to.

No. You cannot refuse to treat someone because they have no insurance.

But would I still get a bill and be expected to pay or do they just sort of fix you up and send you on?

Yes, you will get a bill and they expect you to pay. Now, whether or not you pay is a different story.

At least $150 per visit. I'd be willing to pay that for an actual emergency and would cut down on wait times.
