Seriously.

So after I have two beers over a 1-2 hour period, I can't touch an unloaded firearm, but I can drive a car?

Only person in this thread that caught that. Righteous indignation of some posting here is hilariously misplaced.

a gun safe in the living room? WTF-?!?!..

A little tacky in a nice house but he said the crowd was mid to late 20s so an apt or small rent house seems a fair bet. With limited space, put it where you can.

Some people wear their contempt and fear of guns as a badge of honor. Nothing new, and while this is an example of the pussification of America (begun by communist agents in academia btw) it is not an example of the propagation of the phenomena.

This thread itself proves that the pussification of America is real.

I hope none of y'all have ever driven after having 1 beer. That's about as dangerous as what we did.

Aww, is it not going the way you had hoped?

I love how you prefaced it by saying you and the others were responsible gun owners. Guess what - responsible gun owners wouldn't take out any guns, unloaded or otherwise, in the living room of a house party, and for good reason.

There have been many "responsible" gun owners shot by weapons that were supposedly unloaded. I'm a responsible gun owner and I would have appreciated you putting the guns away too. Absolutely no need to do that during a house party.

I'll never understand the fascination with admiring guns. They are for shooting. What's the point of handling them if you're not going to shoot?

Because many are well built pieces of equipment and it's not always practical to go to a range spend the time and money to shoot a gun of someone that you know casually.

It depends a lot on WHO pulls out the gun.

Let me help you out. They probably think you are an irresponsible flake even though you are an elite counter sniper on Black Ops.

All of this. If I don't know you, I don't trust you with a gun. Sorry if that is hard for some people to fathom. Any gun owner worth their salt knows to never take someone's word that a gun is unloaded, so you telling people that it wasn't loaded doesn't do a damn bit of good. Every accidental shooting known to man started with an "unloaded" gun.

And this is exactly the kind of setting where stupid shite happens with firearms.
