Was anyone else hoping some one would get down on all 4s behind the gunman to trip him as he backed away like that?

actually i was speaking from the other pedestrians' point of view.

Does that make it a good thing? No, no shooting is a good thing.

Is it better that thugs are typically just targeting other thugs? Yes, it would be way worse if thugs were running around shooting random people.

Since when is Canal and Bourbon Street considered the CBD?

Canal is the border between CBD and French Quarter, I guess it sounds better if they call it the CBD.

I made the Lafayette/NO trip probably every 6 weeks at least from about '85 til '90-'92. Maybe it didn't get publicized, but it didn't seem nearly as bad as it is now.

I will be so glad when those confederate statues come down. They are a blight on that city.

Well...damn...beat me to it.

Wow...my wife and I were literally right there a few weeks ago staying at The Saint. Recognize the spot because of the guy with the Rasta stand dicing under his table...

When I moved from the westbank to buy a shotgun double by City Park in the late 90s, one of my westbank friends said "That's crazy, you're gonna get shot!" LOL

There was way more murder in the 90s, but there weren't YouTubes of shootings back then.

I'd risk getting shot over living on the westbank every damn day.

Me too. If I didn't still have family there, I would never cross the bridge.
