I am sure he did not want to believe what he saw what he saw and heard and he actually said as much. People tend to block things out of their monds or question what they actually saw when it is that horrific.

I hear you, i really do. And I really do believe it was a traumatic event for him to witness. And I can even try to comprehend how a weak minded person (which less face it, he must be) would flee a situation like that in the heat of the moment. But man, once the dust settled after he did report it in house and nothing was done. You have to be face to face with a detective and get that dude arrested.

Man he clearly should have stopped it but still, this guy is the entire reason Sandusky isn't still out there today raping young boys. Cut the guy a break.

I met that guy in Orlando before the Capital One Bowl. He seemed like a good guy.

Why doesn't he just move? If he simply moved to Ohio, then no one is really going to look into it.

Plus I'm sure a big reason for him not getting a job is people in the area blaming him for destroying the program.

I've talked to people who said the same thing about Derrick Todd Lee.

I put myself in the place of Mike McQueary's father.

If I had a son, especially a 6'4" son, and he walked in on the rape of a child, regardless of the circumstances, and didn't do everything he could to stop it and call the cops, it would destroy me. It would mean I failed as a man and as a parent. I'd probably kill myself.

WTF???

And a lot of people would be too freaked by what they just saw to initially stop it.

This makes a tad bit of sense. McQueary was fricked. He had two choices. A. Run across the shower and beat that old man into oblivion. (He's a hero and on a staff right now). Or B. Do what he did. (Life is ruined. Even with $5million in his pocket).

He chose poorly.

I KNOW I recall him saying at one point that he made Sandusky aware that he was there and the rape stopped? Was that a false report or a lie?

I don't think this is what the whistleblower idea was about. He gets paid be cause he reported a crime happening at a rich institution.

He's not getting paid because he blew the whistle. He's getting paid because Pedo State defamed his character trying to protect their scumbag coach and cash cow football program.

So he thought it was consensual..maybe till later that evening after he came home, had dinner with his family and watched as his wife made their son finish his brussel sprouts?

i don't like McQ getting paid that much, but he's the only person in the entire story that did anything right. we can argue if it was "right" enough, but he was a 20 something year old kid.

his life is ruined.

i'm just saying that out of everybody on the penn state staff, isn't he the closest one to having tried to do the right thing?

probably, but for a profit, it appears, I'm speculating that his "doing the right thing" was after it appeared his future with PSU was over and he was being made the scapegoat

Mike McQueary walked in on Jerry Sandusky and a boy in a Penn State shower; an incident he failed to immediately end, but reported to his boss the next day.

Why is he not in jail as an accessory?
