I agree that there’s more and more democrats here, there’s are break-ins in a neighborhood where their never was before, this just reminds me of when I was a kid in Gentilly, it’s just sad to see this happen to a beautiful area, again.

In 10-15 years all the “high end” apartments and affordable homes will be no longer high end and will allow for cheaper cost of living and then with it a change will come doubtful for the better.

We’ve got’em outnumbered. New Orleans, Baton Rouge, etc can’t say the same. We run our own schools, city councils, and parish wide elected positions.
When we can’t say that anymore, this is no longer a good place to live.

This past year I’ve seen more and more young black men casing my house, my car has been broken into twice, I live off 1085, it’s just making me nervous, I hope it’s a number game like you say:

The neighborhoods live in is building and enormous complex, it’s supposed to be “luxury” but we all know how apartments turn out.

Apartments always turn shitty eventually in Louisiana.

Unless you have to cross that bridge everyday. I'd rather pay for private school.
The horror

I know what you’re saying.
My grandfather used to say that when he lived in New Orleans he’d look to his right, then to his left at red lights. It was almost always blacks on both sides. It’s gonna get that way here. When it does, you’ll have likely already decided to move.
We all know it’s coming. All we can do is try to keep sales tax through the roof and property higher than anything in neighboring parishes.

I’ve never seen a more true statement on here, I’ve been driven out of my home already because these people, I thought I was safe here, St. Tammany was supposed to be the safe place, everything comes full circle I guess, even the grocery stores here are filled with African American employees now, and I’m more than certain they are the ones who’ve cased my house and broke into my car.

I hate to tell you this man but if you don't want to live around many black people you are going to have to move to Idaho, Montana or Portland
Posted on 5/5/19 at 8:26 pm to Tunasntigers92
It's not just that. There are white dope addicts everywhere. Even in mandeville.
Posted on 5/5/19 at 8:27 pm to fallguy_1978
I have nothing against well to do human beings, I am not racist, I am speaking from pure experience, when I moved to the northshore 20 years ago there was no blacks.

St Tammany is getting worse and worse. It's definitely on the decline.
......dude the whole State of Louisiana (with exception of maybe Lafayette) is in decline. I love the state, the people are some of the nicest most friendly people that I have ever met.....but damn you folks just keep making the same mistake over and over and over. You just keep electing these fricking tax and spend democrats. Case in point. Is JBE trying to slap some more taxes on the O&G Industry. Did I read that proposal correctly? How stupid is that?
Read my lips. Dump the fricking democrat JBE and elect a Republican. Then the GOP gov et al can hook on to Donald Trump's coattail and ride it to properity. Trump knows business. His record, so far, speaks for itself.
It's your state.
As you were.

Assuming an ideal commute, almost 2 hours per day across mini ocean does seem pretty miserable to me.

I’ve seen you say this multiple times, are you talking about rich kids with a heroine/opiate problem?
Posted on 5/5/19 at 8:29 pm to Tunasntigers92
Not really. More mid twenties service industry workers. Maybe they were the rich kids at one point, idk.
Posted on 5/5/19 at 8:30 pm to GreatLakesTiger24
How many people in mandeville are industry workers though?

I'm just messing with you. It's concerning to see crime increase near where you live. My childhood neighborhood isn't what it once was in the 80s.

More than you think. look at the average income, it's not all that high.
I'm talking more about "dog pound road" area though. Lotta trash there and it's leaking out.
